+---
+
+# JSON Canvas
+
+Follow JSON Canvas 1.0. A
.canvas
document contains top-level
+
nodes
and
edges
arrays.
+
+## Workflow
+
+1. Parse the existing JSON before editing it.
+2. Generate a unique lowercase 16-character hexadecimal ID for each new node
+ or edge.
+3. Position nodes without overlap and preserve intentional existing layout.
+4. Point every edge at existing node IDs.
+5. Serialize valid JSON and run the validation checklist below.
+
+## Nodes
+
+Every node requires
id
,
type
,
x
,
+
y
,
width
, and
height
.
+
+| Type | Required content | Purpose |
+| --- | --- | --- |
+|
text
|
text
| Markdown content |
+|
file
|
file
| Vault file; optional
subpath
|
+|
link
|
url
| External URL |
+|
group
| none | Visual container; optional label/background |
+
+Array order controls z-index: earlier nodes are behind later nodes. Coordinates
+may be negative. Position is the top-left corner, x increases right, and y
+increases down.
+
+~~~json
+{
+ "id": "6f0ad84f44ce9c17",
+ "type": "text",
+ "x": 0,
+ "y": 0,
+ "width": 360,
+ "height": 180,
+ "text": "# Main idea\n\nDetails",
+ "color": "5"
+}
+~~~
+
+Use actual JSON newline escapes in text values. Do not double-escape them into
+literal backslash-n text.
+
+## Edges
+
+Every edge requires
id
,
fromNode
, and
+
toNode
. Optional sides are
top
,
right
,
+
bottom
, or
left
. Optional ends are
none

+or
arrow
.
+
+~~~json
+{
+ "id": "0123456789abcdef",
+ "fromNode": "6f0ad84f44ce9c17",
+ "fromSide": "right",
+ "toNode": "a1b2c3d4e5f67890",
+ "toSide": "left",
+ "toEnd": "arrow",
+ "label": "leads to"
+}
+~~~
+
+## Colors and layout
+
+A color is a hex string or preset
"1"
through
+
"6"
. Presets deliberately do not define exact hex colors. Leave
+50–100 px between nodes, 20–50 px padding inside groups, and align to a simple
+grid when creating a new layout.
+
+## Validation checklist
+
+- JSON parses successfully.
+- IDs are unique across nodes and edges.
+- Every
fromNode
and
toNode
exists in
+
nodes
.
+- Each node type has its required content field.
+- Sides, ends, and colors use allowed values.
+- Nodes do not unintentionally overlap and group children sit inside bounds.
+
+Read [Examples](references/EXAMPLES.md) for complete connected and grouped
+canvases.

+
+Views may be
table
,
cards
, or
list
.
+A
map
view depends on compatible map support.
+
+## Filters and properties
+
+Filters may be a single expression or recursively nested
and
,
+
or
, and
not
objects. Property namespaces are:
+
+- note properties:
status
or
note.status

+- file metadata:
file.name
,
file.path
,
+
file.folder
,
file.ctime
,
file.mtime
,
+
file.tags
,
file.links
, and
+
file.backlinks

+- formulas:
formula.days_until_due

+
+Use
file.hasTag()
,
file.hasLink()
,
+
file.hasProperty()
, and
file.inFolder()
for indexed
+file relationships. The
this
value refers to the Base itself, the
+embedding note, or the active file depending on where the Base is rendered.
+
+## Formula rules
+
+- Guard optional properties with
if()
.
+- Date subtraction returns a Duration, not a number. Access
+
.days
,
.hours
, or another numeric field before
+ calling number methods such as
.round()
.
+- Every
formula.X
used by a view or property configuration must
+ have a matching
X
entry under
formulas
.
+- Wrap formulas containing double quotes in YAML single quotes.
+- Quote YAML strings containing special characters, especially colons and
+ leading punctuation.
+
+Read [Functions reference](references/FUNCTIONS_REFERENCE.md) for function and
+type-specific operations, and [Examples](references/EXAMPLES.md) for complete
+task-tracker and daily-notes Bases.
+
+## Validation checklist
+
+- The document parses as YAML and has a
views
list.
+- View
order
,
groupBy
, and summaries reference defined
+ note, file, or formula properties.
+- Formula quoting is balanced and duration math accesses a numeric field.
+- Embedded view names match exactly:
![[My Base.base#View Name]]
.

+name: obsidian-cli
+description: Use the official Obsidian CLI when a task needs Obsidian's running app, index, configured features, command registry, or developer runtime. Use for currently open notes and tabs, workspace state, daily notes, typed properties, tasks, links/backlinks, Bases queries, template resolution, link-aware moves, plugin commands, and plugin/theme debugging; do not use it for ordinary filesystem operations.
+license: MIT
+metadata:
+ copilot-enabled-agents: claude, codex, opencode
+ copilot-builtin-version: "2"
+ copilot-upstream-revision: "a1dc48e68138490d522c04cbf5822214c6eb1202"
+---
+
+# Obsidian CLI
+
+Use the CLI only for behavior that depends on Obsidian's running application,
+indexes, settings, command registry, or developer runtime. Use normal shell
+filesystem tools for ordinary file reads, writes, directory listing, and text
+search.
+
+## Capability probe and fallback
+
+Copilot exposes the terminal-capable executable from the running Obsidian
+installation as
COPILOT_OBSIDIAN_CLI
when it can resolve one.
+Prefer that exact path over
obsidian
from
PATH
, and
+always invoke it as a quoted executable rather than constructing a command
+string. Before relying on the CLI, probe it using the active shell:
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian_cli="${COPILOT_OBSIDIAN_CLI:-obsidian}"
+"$obsidian_cli" version
+~~~
+
+~~~powershell
+$obsidianCli = if ($env:COPILOT_OBSIDIAN_CLI) { $env:COPILOT_OBSIDIAN_CLI } else { "obsidian" }
+& $obsidianCli version
+~~~
+
+A command being present on PATH is not sufficient: the probe must exit
+successfully. Use the selected executable in place of
obsidian
in
+the examples below, resolving it again in a later shell call when necessary. If
+the probe fails, continue with ordinary filesystem tools where they can satisfy
+the request. Briefly tell the user only when the missing runtime capability
+matters. Do not install Obsidian, change PATH, register the CLI, or raise the
+plugin's minimum Obsidian version on the user's behalf.
+
+The CLI requires a compatible Obsidian installer and a running app. Commands
+can differ by version, so inspect live help before using a command whose syntax
+is not already established:
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian help <command>
+~~~
+
+When a request truly needs the runtime capability and the probe fails, tell the
+user to open Obsidian and enable **Settings → General → Command line
+interface** using a compatible installer. Leave registration and any platform
+repair steps to the user.
+
+## Target precisely
+
+Put
vault=<name-or-id>
before the command whenever the vault is
+known. Use
path=
for an exact vault-relative path. Use
+
file=
only when Obsidian's wikilink-style name resolution is
+desired. Do not rely on the active vault or active file when a precise target
+is available.
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian vault="My Vault" backlinks path="Projects/Plan.md" format=json
+~~~
+
+Parameters use
name=value
; boolean flags have no value. Quote
+values containing spaces or shell-special characters.
+
+## High-value indexed and configured operations
+
+Use live help for exact parameters, then prefer these families when they add
+meaning beyond raw files:
+
+- Configured daily notes:
daily
,
daily:path
,
+
daily:read
,
daily:append
,
+
daily:prepend
.
+- Typed properties and parsed metadata:
properties
,
+
property:read
,
property:set
,
+
property:remove
,
tags
,
tag
, and
+
aliases
. Supply a
type=
to
+
property:set
when the property is not plain text.
+- Tasks:
tasks
for indexed listing and
task
with a
+ stable
ref=path:line
or exact file/line for status changes.
+- Link graph:
backlinks
,
links
,
+
unresolved
,
orphans
, and
deadends
.
+- Bases:
bases
,
base:views
, and
+
base:query
. Prefer
format=json
for structured agent
+ consumption.
+- Templates:
templates
and
template:read ... resolve

+ when configured template resolution is required.
+- Live workspace state:
tabs ids
lists the currently open tabs and
+ their IDs, while
workspace ids
shows the workspace tree and its
+ item IDs.
+- Link-aware refactors:
move
and
rename
when the vault
+ setting to update internal links should be honored.
+
+### Inspect open notes
+
+When the user asks about notes currently open in Obsidian:
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian vault="My Vault" tabs ids
+obsidian vault="My Vault" workspace ids
+~~~
+
+Use
tabs ids
as the source of truth for open tabs. Keep entries
+verbatim and classify them only when the output provides enough evidence:
+
+- a Markdown note has an explicit vault path ending in
.md

+ (case-insensitive)
+- another file-backed tab has an explicit vault path with a different extension
+- a non-file view, such as search, graph, settings, or a plugin view, has no
+ vault path
+
+Do not infer a path from a display title, view type, or tab ID, and do not
+discard entries that cannot be classified. For a request about open notes,
+extract the Markdown paths while retaining the other tabs as workspace context.
+Use
workspace ids
when tab groups or workspace hierarchy matter. Do
+not substitute
recents
, which includes files that are no longer open.
+
+If the tab output does not expose paths or view types clearly, correlate its tab
+IDs with this read-only, structured workspace query:
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian vault="My Vault" eval code='JSON.stringify((()=>{const tabs=[];const active=app.workspace.getMostRecentLeaf();app.workspace.iterateAllLeaves(leaf=>{const path=leaf.view.file?.path??null;tabs.push({id:leaf.id,title:leaf.getDisplayText(),viewType:leaf.view.getViewType(),path,kind:path===null?"view":path.toLowerCase().endsWith(".md")?"markdown":"file",active:leaf===active})});return tabs})())'
+~~~
+
+The workspace query also returns sidebar and floating leaves. Only call an entry
+an open tab when its ID appears in
tabs ids
; retain query-only
+entries separately as workspace context. Preserve tab entries that have no
+matching workspace entry instead of guessing their identity.
+
+If the user asks for the single currently focused note and the tab output does
+not identify it, use a read-only app query:
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian vault="My Vault" eval code="app.workspace.getMostRecentLeaf()?.view.file?.path ?? ''"
+~~~
+
+Use normal filesystem tools only for explicit paths returned by Obsidian, and
+choose a reader appropriate to the file type. Do not read every open note when
+paths or titles alone answer the request.
+
+## Obsidian and plugin commands
+
+
commands
lists registered command IDs, including commands provided
+by plugins. Filter by an ID prefix, then execute the selected command with
+
command id=<command-id>
. Never guess a command ID when it can be
+discovered. Do not execute a discovered command whose effect is prohibited by
+the host-session rules below.
+
+~~~bash
+obsidian vault="My Vault" commands filter="my-plugin:"
+obsidian vault="My Vault" command id="my-plugin:run-action"
+~~~
+
+## Plugin and theme development
+
+Use the CLI as the first choice for runtime verification after the normal build
+or test command has produced artifacts:
+
+1. For a plugin other than Copilot, reload with
+
plugin:reload id=<plugin-id>
when needed. Never reload the
+ Copilot plugin from a Copilot-hosted agent session.
+2. Inspect
dev:errors
and
dev:console level=error
.
+3. Verify UI state with
dev:screenshot path=...
,
+
dev:dom selector=...
, and
dev:css selector=...
.
+4. Use
dev:mobile on
only when mobile emulation is relevant, and
+ turn it off afterward.
+
+Read-only
eval
and
dev:cdp
queries are appropriate for
+state that the documented inspection commands cannot expose. Keep expressions
+small and return serializable values. Treat any expression or CDP call that
+mutates application state as a risky operation requiring explicit user intent.
+
+## Preserve the host session
+
+Never reload or restart the Obsidian app or window from an agent session. Never
+reload, disable, or uninstall the Copilot plugin that is hosting the agent. In
+particular, do not use:
+
+- any CLI command that reloads or restarts the app, window, or renderer
+- any plugin reload, disable, or uninstall operation targeting Copilot
+- any restricted-mode change
+- a command ID, JavaScript expression, or CDP call that performs an equivalent
+ app, window, renderer, or Copilot-plugin teardown
+
+These actions terminate the in-flight agent and can discard its work. This is a
+hard prohibition, not a confirmation-gated operation. If verification requires
+one, finish all non-destructive checks and tell the user to perform the reload
+manually after the agent session has ended.
+
+## Risky operations require explicit intent
+
+Do not perform the following merely because they are available:
+
+- permanent deletion
+- local-history or Sync restoration
+- publishing or unpublishing
+- plugin or theme installation/uninstallation
+- mutating JavaScript evaluation or CDP calls
+
+Confirm that the user's request clearly authorizes the exact target and effect.
+Prefer reversible variants, such as trash-backed deletion, when they satisfy
+the request. Explicit intent does not override the host-session prohibition
+above.
+
+## Exclusions
+
+Do not teach or use the TUI, clipboard output, undocumented flags, platform
+registration repairs, or CLI equivalents of generic filesystem operations in
+this skill.

+name: openartifacts-publish
+description: Publish, update, or withdraw an existing Markdown note through OpenArtifacts' host-owned review flow. Use when the user asks to publish, share, update, delete, remove, or withdraw an OpenArtifacts page.
+metadata:
+ copilot-enabled-agents: claude, codex, opencode
+ copilot-builtin-version: "1"
+---
+
+# Publish Markdown to OpenArtifacts
+
+Require one existing Markdown source file. When the user asks to delete, remove, or
+withdraw its current OpenArtifacts page, do not generate HTML. Run the host wrapper with
+only the vault-relative source-note path. Obsidian reads the note's current identity
+and opens its existing management modal; the user alone chooses Update or Delete.
+Never tell the user to delete the page at its public URL.
+
+For publishing or updating, finish a complete, self-contained,
+passive HTML document before asking Obsidian to review it. Render source-specific
+content such as Mermaid and Obsidian Bases into static HTML or SVG, embed images,
+and include no scripts, frames, forms, handlers, redirects, or external assets. Treat
+YAML frontmatter as note metadata: never render the raw frontmatter block as page
+content. The exact UTF-8 HTML must not exceed `10485760` bytes.
+
+Style the page from a theme file rather than improvising. Resolve the theme name in
+this order: `OPENARTIFACTS_THEME` from the environment when set, then a theme the
+user named in chat, then `research-memo`. Read
+`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/themes/
.md` when the
+user has authored that theme, otherwise `themes/
.md` next to this file. Follow
+it exactly: tokens, type, scale, layout, components, and its theme-handling CSS, all
+inlined. If neither file exists, still publish with restrained defaults (system fonts,
+one accent, a readable measure, light and dark handled) and tell the user which theme
+was not found.
+
+Write those final bytes to a new unique `.html` file under
+`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/handoffs/`, creating that
+directory first when it does not exist. Do not show a prose substitute or ask
+for confirmation in chat. Instead run the host wrapper with exactly two
+vault-relative paths: the source note and the staged HTML.
+
+On macOS or Linux:
+
+```bash
+sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" "Notes/source.md" ".openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html"
+```
+
+For withdrawal, omit the staged-HTML argument:
+
+```bash
+sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" "Notes/source.md"
+```
+
+On Windows, use the `.cmd` wrapper (prefix it with `&` in PowerShell):
+
+```powershell
+& "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.cmd" "Notes/source.md" ".openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html"
+```
+
+Omit the staged-HTML argument on Windows for withdrawal as well.
+
+With only the source path, the wrapper blocks while Obsidian shows its host-owned
+Update/Delete management modal. With a staged HTML path, it blocks while Obsidian
+consumes the artifact and shows its source, title, and a link to a sandboxed
+local-browser rendering of the exact captured page. Obsidian rejects active or
+externally loaded content, prevents navigation from the browser preview, removes the
+original artifact, removes its temporary browser preview after review, and alone reads
+the current note identity to choose whether confirmation publishes or updates; never
+choose an action or document id.
+
+- `cancelled`: stop. No request was sent.
+- `regenerate`: create a new complete artifact and run the wrapper again. The
+ previous confirmation never applies to regenerated bytes.
+- `published` or `updated`: return the host-provided public URL verbatim.
+- `deleted`: report that the host withdrew the page and removed its note identity.
+- `failed`: if the host says to edit the staged file, address every listed issue in
+ that same file and retry exactly once. Otherwise, or if that retry fails, stop and
+ report the exact host message. Never invent a cause, change unrelated styling, create
+ another filename, bypass the review, or publish directly.

-withdraw its current OpenArtifacts page, do not generate HTML. Run the host wrapper with
-only the vault-relative source-note path. Obsidian reads the note's current identity
-and opens its existing management modal; the user alone chooses Update or Delete.
-Never tell the user to delete the page at its public URL.
+Copilot supplies everything this skill needs through the environment:
+`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT` is the vault root, and `COPILOT_PLUS_LICENSE_KEY`
+is the credential the bundled wrapper sends. Do not read Copilot settings or credential
+files, print the key, install anything, or run Node, npm, npx, or the Obsidian CLI.
+
+If `COPILOT_PLUS_LICENSE_KEY` is unset or empty, stop before generating anything and tell
+the user: Publishing to OpenArtifacts needs a Copilot Plus license key. Add it in Copilot Settings and try again.
+
+## 1. Prepare the page
+
+### Existing Markdown note
+
+Read one existing Markdown source note. Treat YAML frontmatter as metadata, never as page
+content. Note its `openartifacts` property, or on older notes the `symposium` property:
+an `https://…/d/<docId>` value means the note is already published and this task updates
+that page; pass that `docId` to the wrapper. Compare document ids, not urls: an older
+`symposium.site` link and an `openartifacts.site` link with the same id are the same page.
+If either property holds any other value, or the two name different ids, stop and ask the
+user before touching them.
+
+Write complete UTF-8 HTML (at most `10485760` bytes) to a new file
+under `$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/handoffs/`, creating
+the directory if needed. Preserve the note's content; render Obsidian-specific syntax such
+as wikilinks, callouts, embeds, Mermaid, and Bases into static HTML or SVG. CSS, scripts,
+and external resources are allowed and are published unchanged.
+
+Use the note's file name without `.md` as its page title. Convert the filename-derived title to
+title case while preserving recognizable acronyms and proper names. Put that title in both the HTML
+`
` and a visible `
` above the rendered note body. If the user explicitly asks for no
+title, do not add the `
`. Keep the HTML `
` as browser metadata, and preserve any
+authored opening heading as note content. Otherwise, if the rendered note body already starts with an
+equivalent `
` containing the same visible title text, use that heading as the page-body title
+and do not add another heading. Preserve all remaining note content below it, and do not edit the
+source Markdown to add the heading. Keep normal text wrapping on the `
` so long titles wrap
+naturally on narrow screens. Never truncate the title, hide its overflow, or apply single-line or
+ellipsis styling. The review and publish steps must use this same complete HTML file so its title
+and body match in preview and after publishing.
+
+Themes are optional. For a named theme, check
+`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/themes/
.md`, then
+`themes/
.md` next to this skill. Check each path independently. If neither
+exists, continue with readable defaults; a missing theme must never block publishing.
+The bundled `research-memo` is an optional example.
+
+### Existing HTML file
+
+For an existing local `.html` file, confirm that it exists and is at most
+`10485760` bytes. Pass that original HTML file path directly to
+the wrapper. Treat the file as the complete page: do not convert it to Markdown, and do
+not render, rewrite, or copy it into `.openartifacts/handoffs/`. Use its file
+name without `.html` as the wrapper title without changing the document's own title or
+visible content. Skip the Markdown frontmatter, generated-title, and theme instructions
+above. Check the HTML, including inline CSS, for every reference to a local file. Examples
+include relative `src`, `href`, `srcset`, `poster`, or CSS `url(...)` references.
+If any exist, keep the file unchanged; name each reference in the review message and say it
+will not load on the published page because only the HTML file is uploaded. This warning
+does not block publication: let the user make the file self-contained or approve publishing
+anyway. The original file remains user-owned; never delete the original HTML file.

-For publishing or updating, finish a complete, self-contained,
-passive HTML document before asking Obsidian to review it. Render source-specific
-content such as Mermaid and Obsidian Bases into static HTML or SVG, embed images,
-and include no scripts, frames, forms, handlers, redirects, or external assets. Treat
-YAML frontmatter as note metadata: never render the raw frontmatter block as page
-content. The exact UTF-8 HTML must not exceed `10485760` bytes.
-
-Style the page from a theme file rather than improvising. Resolve the theme name in
-this order: `OPENARTIFACTS_THEME` from the environment when set, then a theme the
-user named in chat, then `research-memo`. Read
-`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/themes/
.md` when the
-user has authored that theme, otherwise `themes/
.md` next to this file. Follow
-it exactly: tokens, type, scale, layout, components, and its theme-handling CSS, all
-inlined. If neither file exists, still publish with restrained defaults (system fonts,
-one accent, a readable measure, light and dark handled) and tell the user which theme
-was not found.
-
-Write those final bytes to a new unique `.html` file under
-`$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/handoffs/`, creating that
-directory first when it does not exist. Do not show a prose substitute or ask
-for confirmation in chat. Instead run the host wrapper with exactly two
-vault-relative paths: the source note and the staged HTML.
-
-On macOS or Linux:
+## 2. Let the user review
+
+Tell the user the absolute path of the HTML file and that, subject to any relative-asset
+warning above, opening it in a browser shows the page as it will be uploaded; OpenArtifacts
+adds its own header and footer bylines when it serves the page. Then end your turn.
+
+Never publish in the same turn that generated the HTML. Publish only when a later
+message from the user clearly asks to publish this page. Treat anything else as feedback
+(revise the generated Markdown handoff and repeat this step; for existing HTML, relay the
+feedback and wait for the user to update the file, then repeat steps 1 and 2 before accepting
+publication approval) or as a cancellation. When unsure whether a message is an approval,
+ask once. Never simulate the user's approval.
+
+## 3. Publish
+
+Run the wrapper next to this SKILL.md with the HTML file, its filename-derived title, and
+the existing `docId` when updating a Markdown note. Run it as a shell command with your shell command tool (for example
+`Bash` in Claude Code, `shell` in OpenCode, `exec_command` in Codex). The command
+is shell syntax, not JavaScript or TypeScript: never pass it as the code of a
+code-execution tool.
+On macOS or Linux, the Markdown path uses its generated handoff:

```bash
-sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" "Notes/source.md" ".openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html"
+sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" publish "$OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html" "Note title" [docId]
```

-For withdrawal, omit the staged-HTML argument:
+An existing HTML file uses its original path directly:

```bash
-sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" "Notes/source.md"
+sh "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.sh" publish "/absolute/path/to/page.html" "Page title"
```

-On Windows, use the `.cmd` wrapper (prefix it with `&` in PowerShell):
+On Windows, use the `.cmd` wrapper (prefix with `&` in PowerShell):

```powershell
-& "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.cmd" "Notes/source.md" ".openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html"
+& "/absolute/path/to/this/skill/directory/openartifacts-publish.cmd" publish "$env:OPENARTIFACTS_WORKSPACE_ROOT/.openartifacts/handoffs/unique.html" "Note title" [docId]
```

-Omit the staged-HTML argument on Windows for withdrawal as well.
-
-With only the source path, the wrapper blocks while Obsidian shows its host-owned
-Update/Delete management modal. With a staged HTML path, it blocks while Obsidian
-consumes the artifact and shows its source, title, and a link to a sandboxed
-local-browser rendering of the exact captured page. Obsidian rejects active or
-externally loaded content, prevents navigation from the browser preview, removes the
-original artifact, removes its temporary browser preview after review, and alone reads
-the current note identity to choose whether confirmation publishes or updates; never
-choose an action or document id.
-
-- `cancelled`: stop. No request was sent.
-- `regenerate`: create a new complete artifact and run the wrapper again. The
- previous confirmation never applies to regenerated bytes.
-- `published` or `updated`: return the host-provided public URL verbatim.
-- `deleted`: report that the host withdrew the page and removed its note identity.
-- `failed`: if the host says to edit the staged file, address every listed issue in
- that same file and retry exactly once. Otherwise, or if that retry fails, stop and
- report the exact host message. Never invent a cause, change unrelated styling, create
- another filename, bypass the review, or publish directly.
+For an existing HTML file on Windows, replace the handoff path with the original absolute
+`.html` path and omit the `docId`.
+
+Success returns the same server receipt, `{"docId", "url", "version"}`, for either
+input. For a Markdown note, set its `openartifacts` frontmatter property to that `url`
+(create the frontmatter block if needed, keep every other property), remove a `symposium`
+property whose link has the same document id, and delete the generated HTML file from
+`.openartifacts/handoffs/`. For an existing HTML file, leave the source file
+unchanged. Then report the URL. Publishing the same Markdown note again updates the same page.
+
+On failure the wrapper prints the HTTP status and the server's message to stderr and
+exits 1. Report that message verbatim. Do not retry on your own, invent a cause, strip
+styling, or publish another way. For a 401, the license key was refused or the plan
+cannot publish; point the user at Copilot Settings. For `not_found` on an update, stop;
+do not create a replacement page unless the user explicitly asks.
+
+## 4. Withdraw
+
+For delete, remove, or withdraw requests, take the `docId` from an OpenArtifacts link the
+user supplies or the receipt URL reported earlier. Otherwise, read it with the same rules as
+step 1: `openartifacts` first, `symposium` on older notes, compared by document id, and
+stop to ask on any other value or on two properties naming different ids. If there is no link
+or property, say nothing is published. Otherwise tell the user the link will stop working and
+that copies people already saved cannot be recalled, then end your turn. On a clear yes, run
+the wrapper with `unshare <docId>`, remove each `openartifacts` or `symposium` property
+only when that property's own link has the same document id, and report that the page is gone.
+Never tell the user to delete the page at its public URL.
